Hey, thanks Hezz! The mesh is half inch square. I had the choice of normal galv mesh at 1 inch X half inch or stainless steel mash at the half inch width, but decided that being indoors where the wire can't get weathered they needed stainless steel. A few years ago I built my first little aviary indoors and used normal galv. There were 2 sudden deaths of young hens which the vet put down to zinc poisoning from the hens chewing the unweathered galv wire!

I thought it may have been smaller than the general wire most members have used. I think that makes it look really neat, especially as they are inside in house. I know it isn't that old, but it still looks all lovely and tight. The caged male ( ) did a good job.

I have a couple of big eucalyptus trees in the garden ( Manchester UK ) would it be safe to use the branches of these for the birds ?
