I am so sorry lemonora. It's a horrible feeling you're experiencing right now. Your burial arrangements are yours to make but what you describe seems fine. As for how long to wait, I always want to have the funeral for my departed friend as soon as possible. That's what works for me. Rest easy Tutu and fly high and free over fields of millet and whatever treats you loved best.

I'm so sorry that Tutu has left you. It really hard saying goodbye to our little loves. I've not wrapped any of my birds or other pets, but once I've dug the grave I make a little nest out of bedding or for bugies it's been a paper napkin or some cage paper, then I put in some of all their favourite foods and a flower. And then cover them over with a little bit of bedding or another paper napkin before filling in the soil. I've buried mine on the day that they died becaues I've found that easier. I think it is quite a personal thing and not the same for everyone, so whatever you feel is right will be right.
Hugs xxxx

So sorry to hear this. Fly high Tutu. I don't have any special knowledge on how to bury him. I have read that cats don't like mint so maybe you could plant mint over his grave. If it were me, I would remove his cage from next to his sister. I would think she might be confused/upset looking at his cage but not seeing him there.

I’m so sorry for your loss. As others have said, I also bury on the same day. We have usually wrapped any of our small animals in paper towel as if they’re snuggled in bed and I find any flowers I can from the garden to go in their little burial spot, firm the top of the soil and until I get a plant, I have put small garden ornaments over the top to discourage any digging.
Fly high Tutu. You were much loved.

I’m so sorry. I wrapped my Brodie & Sam up in very special (to me) pieces of material then they were placed in a deep grave, next to each other. A plant is now on top of them. Because of awful weather we couldn’t bury Sam immediately so he was placed in a box in the fridge for 2 days & that was fine.

How you bury Tutu is a very personal thing, lemonora. Mine have had a pretty box to lie in, maybe not terribly environmentally friendly but in these cases that has been the least of my concerns. They are together, and I have marked the area with paving stones to discourage anything digging, and they have a small piece of polished granite as a memorial as well. Whatever you do will be the right thing for you. Take care of yourself now, too. Rest In Peace dear little Tutu. xx

She keeps calling out and screaming while looking around I removed his cage and covered it I put her favorite thing in his place (water fountain) and Homer on her other side, they have quite a bond so she keeps going back to his cage (perch outside his cage for her) that’s her usual everyday spot But she didn’t go near the fountain and keeps calling and looking around every few minutes It’s breaking my heart I wonder how much heartbreak is still there
