Hi. We found this bird yesterday on the ground outside our shop & managed to catch it. It is in a big cage, alone, with toys, food etc. It twists its head occasionally, is this normal? Can't find this behaviour online

Hi and Welcome! Well done for rescuing the little lost one. It warms my heart to hear of such things. Are you able to post a pic or a video or both, to help us identify what is going on? If you can describe the birds other behaviours - feeding, walking, flying, droppings and such, that will also assist. Thanks for picking up the little fella.

Is he going to the top of his cage and turning his head as if to try and find a way out or is it something else. As loz has said, we need more info.

Budgies can turn their heads in Ll directions. Here's Olive being acrobatic with her head turned totally back to front while having a shred-fest. How is your little foundling??
