We have this 2 year old female green budgie and bought a blue 4 month old baby that we think is male. Ther relationship seems up and down but mostly not so freindly. At first they where scared of each other but then they where "kissing" or cuddle on ther cage with ther beaks together. Recently they start to snap or peck at each other if they comes to close.
Its like the baby wants to play or cuddle, but then the green female gets annoyed. They can sit next to each other on the playground or cages with peace.
But when the green female want to sit on my shoulder then the baby also want to sit there and on the exactly same spot. This dosent work out. Or if i have th egreen femake on my finger then the baby also wants to sit on the same finger at same spot. Then she fdlyes away and the baby follows after her where ever she goes beside her cage. So when she had enough then she jums inside he rcage and the baby sits on the roof and wonders what happend.
Is this normal ?
Sorry for my poor spelling but im very tired today from work.
from this.
To this.

My four budgies are best friends, squabble-buddies and relentless enemies and I never know how it's going to be. From one hour to the next. All I know is that them accepting each other has taken time and whenever a budgie is added to the flock, there's a long getting-to-know-you phase.

My mother told me they where "kissing" in the morning. It sjust when i get home from work then i see em squabble When they are relaxing it seems more peacefull haha

I think the blue budgie is also a hen. Hens can be slightly more unpredictable than the males and do bicker more.

Well 2 hens on the hand is better than 10 on the roof or something
Its still a baby but i notice it likes to do the exactly same things as our green female. Like play with feathers and strings and bite in the same things. I guess its to early to say but for now the baby sems more interrested in me than my mother that actualy lives with em.
Our plan was to get a male for my mother so it could be interested in her. Then we would had each our budgie freind
The baby sure can whistle or chirp very loud.
Thats the clearest picture i got from its ceral or nose.
But you think its a female hen ?

I think the blue budgie is also a hen. Hens can be slightly more unpredictable than the males and do bicker more. Marianne Marlow is right - blue budgie is a hen, also. No hen likes to have her home invaded by a stranger (just ask your mother or wife). You are lucky that your resident hen is only flying away and ignoring the new bird. Give them time, they may sort it out. Interfere only if things get violent.

A littel update: The baby blue budgie still has some blue on its cere but mostly white. Its around 4-5 month old now and very quick. Sometimes it tries to land on our green female back when they fly around. The baby blue want to stay with in 10-5 cm range of the female green budgie we have that is 2 years ish. And if one of em fly away then they both fly away. The kiss and argue and bicker and eat and preens together all day long. They dont fight or bite each other in any harmful way. There is one main problem tho... When i have the green female on my finger and talk with it, then the baby also wants to sit on the exactly same spot on my finger and ends up frightening the green female away and then the baby also gets frightening and fly away. This happens everytime the green budgie sits on me and nibble my hair or face. When the baby finaly sits on my other hand and watches the green female preening my face, then it stretches its littel body very long toward my face cuz it also want to "preen" my face, but it dosent understand the concept of human pain and preening carefully. It basicly chews on my face parts like nose, lips, eyes, ears or neck skin. It hurts like hounds !! and i try to express the pain by saying ouch! or No No No it hurts ! but littel does it understand. Its just so sad to see it all eager to also wanna "preen" my face but ends with hurting me. cuz when the green budgies does, so must the baby also do! Its monkey see monkey do. Also today the green bird wanted to sit on my mothers dinner plate and taste her food. Then the baby came and landet on the same spot and then the green bird left and gave up tasting the food. They dont fight when they eat seeds together..Its just that we cant do things we normal did with the green female unless the baby blue comes and ruins it. I hope its a baby thing and it will grow out of this bad habbit. They can sit on each my finger and be nice and cute tho. Bu its just sometimes this problems happens. My mother calls it a littel teorist now....
But i noticed the baby is a messy eater when it comes to cucumber and watermelon. It just plunges its beak in to the food and shakes it beak so food gets everywhere. Both me and the green female had watermelon pieces stuck in our faces after the baby was done eating. haha So i think its a baby thing. Messy eater and still chewing on everything like babies does.

Have you got a recent picture of the blue budgie? Do they have names? I love reading all about them…

Your lovely budgies sound very normal and well-adjusted. Little blue will get the hang of things.
My Mr Hibs and Herman often compete for who gets to be on my finger / hand / head / glasses. I try to offer a hand each which works for a bit but young Herman is very excitable and normally misbehaves and Mr Hibs flies off in disgust.

Have you got a recent picture of the blue budgie? Do they have names? I love reading all about them… I got 1 pic of the blue but i will take more tomorrow. Now they are sleeping since its nights here. We have bought 3 dreamcatchers that we hang from the lamp wires where they love to sit and poo alot Then they climp all around on these and bites each string until the dreamcatchers eventualy ends up being a round circle where they can sit and rest
Sometimes they bicher about who that gets to bite the same dreamcatcher. Also one day i noticed they where sitting on each side of of the dreamcatcher and kissing thu the strings <3
We think Piphans is a mix of a english budgie since it has alot of spots and a big head with small eyes. And when my mother goes to bed, then she says goodnight and its time to sleep now. Then Piphans takes notes of that and jumps inside her cage to sleep while she says a littel faint chirp.
But Viggo dosent want to be in a cage..last month it jumped inside piphans cage to sleep and that went well for 3 days. Then it want to sleep outside on top of the cage or on the playground. So we have plenty of seed and water bowls out for it. We have 2 same cages and they are open from the morning to the evening, so they can manage to jump inside and come out of they want to.
When Piphans has had enough of the baby then she jumps inside one of the cages and preen her self or rest.
A bit dark and the red stuff on the chin is watermelon

For the health of your birds, please get rid of the cotton rope that they are sitting on. You can see where they have been chewing on it and this can cause crop impaction which in turn can kill them. Use a natural, non-treated rope such as sisal, hemp or flax, all of which have a much shorter and weaker fibre than cotton and doesn’t present the same problems. For the same reason cotton is much more dangerous if they get the pieces caught around their toes, feet, legs or neck.

I bought exactly this.
I just had to take it apart or else i could not tie it to the branch cuz it was to thick. A parrot could sit on it Its allmost 1 cm thick
I think the cotton rope you can see in the picture at the corner is a toy that hangs around the branch.
I heard about the cotton crop impact, so i bought enough sisal robe like 20 m
I hope that ok,
