Beautiful budgies!
I'd say the baby is a little girl.

Changes: It seems like the baby blue "girl" is very wild in its head. And wont settle down. Only sometimes it want to sit on my finger or head or shoulder or eat from my hands for few seconds, but takes off and want to be next to the green piphans. Everything it does happens so fast and not calm at all. It eats and preens fast and flies around like its chased. Even the green budgie piphans wonders whats going on with the baby. Today the mood was not so good. Green piphans was tired and moody of this wild baby and dident want to interact with it. Is that cuz its still a baby and will this wildness fade away when it gets older ? Today we had to catch the baby and put it inside its cage for some quiet time. And my mother says we need to let it be inside the cage for some days now. Since it havebt been inside the cage for days and flies around like a chased wild animal. It dosent even have interrest in any toys like the green piphans has. I think we made a mistale by letting it out together with piphans to fly around. Rather than let it be inside the cage and have a look around and rest for a bit. But when the baby is inside its cage then it climbs around and wants out. For now we are "grounding" it. Like time out for kids. Then the green piphans can enjoy things it use to do before we got the baby. I would hate to rehome the baby and never get over it. Cuz i love birds. Is it a good ideea to split em up perhaps so the baby can live with me for a while until its calm and then reunite em later ?
Thanks for clearing the gender

Marianne Marlow and myself had already said that the blue was a hen. Why don’t you have a space for your older bird to go when it needs time to itself? A small cage set up with just the basics is all you need. Unless there is serious fighting going on, separating budgies never seems to bring the outcomes that are expected. It is a very rare budgie that does not want to be with others of its own kind, unless it is sick, or getting on in age and, like yours maybe needing some time out short term.

So turns out im a bird owner now I adopted the baby blue. So im sort of a new member in here. Me and my mother both live in the same flat in each our own littel apartment where the kitchen and living room is in same room. We both have 55 square meters, so we dont have enough rooms to devide the birds up in. We had 2 cages in the same room at my mothers place and the older green budgie was jumping inside its cage when it had enoug of the baby. But it could never play with any toys unless the baby came and sabotaged it. When my mother sleeps on the couch then the green bird liked to land on her and nible her face. It never did that anymore cuz the baby also wanted to do the same thing but endet up chasing the green away and then they both flew away. So basicly the green bird could never play with anything or interact with us. Last day we could feel how angry or mad the green female was..she was speechless and very sillent in anger and she bites my nose again, when she normaly give kisses. So she was very angry. Today when we seperated em then the green bird seems alot more happy and started to interact with us again like it use to do. It dosent seems to miss the baby at all. And the baby seems more relaxed at my place. I could have it on my finger for 15 minutes where i talked with it and i could tickle it on its belly. Like a complete other baby bird. I could even scratch it a littel in its cheeks. Way more relaxed. So i think they both stressed each other out. And like you say i guess its the age difference. So for now i will keep the baby and perhaps reunite em when its more tame and relaxed. Im thinking ½ year for a short term. For now the only issue is that the baby dosent want to be in a cage. I tryed to lure it inside with food/fruits and i tryed to be calm and relaxed nearing the cage entrance with my hand, but it just flies away or crawls up on my shoulder. I hope that it will get use to being in a cage one day. Cuz i would hate to chase and catch it. It has been inside the cage on its own 4 times or so since we got it for 1-2 month ago.So it knows how to get inside. Now i need to create a new playground with some sticks and sisal robe. cuz it was use to land and sit there on the first i made. Its just strange that here in EU alot of bird toys and playgrounds are sold out or not available. And we dont have several pet stores. And if there is one store then it just sells food and mostly dog/cat stuff.
Here she is allready comfy in my apartment in her sling

Do you still have two cages? I am wondering where baby blue sleeps. If you had a cage for her you could put her in at night at her bedtime and cover the cage…. And perhaps during the day put her in for short periods so she gets to like it more…..As for toys, do you use Amazon at all?

It sounds more easy that done..she wont jump inside the cage when i near the entrance with her on my finger. She dosent want to go inside at all. but she knows how to get in and can get in if she wants to but i guess thats not in her concept. So she sleeps outside in that sling for now. I covered the floor with some paper for poo.
I tryed to grap her carefully on my finger but she is quick as a ninja and always on alert mode it seems Yes i use amazon but im limited to use amazon.de the german site or els ei need to pay tax of tax and fee of fee if i order from Amazon.us and amazon.de dosent have the same stuff available to me.
But i will have a look again and see what i can find.

Does she like millet? Maybe try keeping a bit on the cage, and then in the doorway, and then some inside, so she gets to like the cage and sees it as her nice home….If she goes in, don’t shut her in until she gets to like it and rest in it.

There is millet and seeds inside and on the top of the cage in a bowl. There is also millet outside and she does eat from my hand or shreds it to pieces if she dosent like it. I tryed with apple today and it got shredet and she flinged pieces everywhere bigger than she could chew. So i doubt any apple was eaten today...
But i could try with some millet or these seed sticks near the entrance. For now she is a bit stressed out cuz she needs to find places to sit. And i just got her today, but i allready installed the sling and some sisal robe she can sit on as a sling. She also has her cage to sit on. Now she lands on my head or my hand when she flies around. She dident eat or drink much today so i offered her a spoon with seeds and water while she was resting in the sling and she ate half of it.
She is so littel and thin. She needs to eat alot and get bigger and strong But she has alot of energy it seems. Also she chirps and preens herself and rest on the sling. So i dont think the transfer was all bad. And she knows me and my hands. Thats why im avoiding to catch her.
I did try with lettuce and apple inside the cage but it had no interrest.

I think she is not going to go in her cage when she can get food in your room. She should not be fed outside her cage. I know it’s difficult for you and her at the moment, but she will calm down and see her cage as her safe place to be. Try just putting her food near the entrance to her cage, and when she is ok with eating there, put it in her cage but don’t close her in until she is happy flying into her cage and staying for a while. Budgies are very intelligent, she will soon know that her cage is a nice place to play and sleep. This is just my opinion, what do other members think?

Spot on, ladybird. Food should not be a regular out-of-cage feature, not until the budgie sees its cage as its safe place. My flock is allowed to forage outside their cages but only because the habit of caging themselves is so strong. They're in their cages right now, with the doors open and happy as you like.

Maybe ur right..the problem in the start was we have the green piphans and she knows how to get in and out when she wants to. Like ur birds caging em self with open doors. Then we had food outside the cage on the playground for it also. That worked super well.
Then we wanted go get her a friend and there was food everywhere to get, so there was no reason to depend on cages for the new baby.Thats maybe our fault from the start. The baby is just so tiny and thin that im worries it dosent eat enough.
Are you all sure she will get inside the cage if i leave food inside there only ? Once i noticed she climbet around the cage to reach some millet from the outside.
Its just when i have her on my finger and near her the cage entrance then she flies away. I had to catch her here for some hours ago since she needs to learn what a cage is.
Im gona let her be inside the cage rest of this day and until i come home from work tomorrow, then she can get out or should i let her stay inside few days to get comfy ?
This baby is realy hardmode raising and taming. The green piphans was way more easy..allmost on auto mode. If only the baby would be half as behaved and controle able.
When i have my hand inside the cage, then i can touch her on her beak and chin and she jumps on my finger. So she dosent seems to be scared of me. But something else is making her acting wild. Like some vietnam flashback trauma.
When she is out then she flies around like she is being chased or disturbed. She does land on my hand when she had few flight rounds.

I keep a new budgie in the cage for at least two full days. After that they are allowed out for a bit but there's no food or water outside of the cage. The budgie will have to return to feed. As soon as they return I close the door. I might let them out again later that day, same rules. That process goes on for around a week. When they are out of the cage and after a couple of days or so, I will begin to present millet to the budgie in my hand in an attempt to hand-tame them. The only food they see outside the cage for first few weeks is when I present it by hand.
Other folks will have their own, likely far better, methodologies!

Sounds like a great plan. I will follow up on that if i cant lure her inside otherways. She eats from my hand and i can touch her when she is calm. I tryed to give her scratches on the cheeks and she fluffed up and tilted her head like she enjoyed it. But then suddenly she dosent want scratches anyway. Im trying this each day when she is calm and resting. She has these moments where she just flies around like a formation flight or its the vietnam flashback she has But when she finaly rest on her sling or lamp wires, then she looks so cute. Also when she chirps and says like water running Gluk Gluk Gluk she sais : Update I found out it was my fridge that says Gluk ..Gluk..Gluk at night and it must be that sound she imitates. I also finished a home made playground with some branches and sticks from the forest that i washed and cleaned for leafs. Then i addet some sisal robe and few spare toys we had. But i found a real playground and some random toy pack with 8 pieces on amazon for 50 incl shipping and fee. Will have em wedensday or friday it says.

Today wasa great day also... The baby female will be renamed from the boy name Viggo to Piphans Cuz we just love to call our birds that name since i was a kid. And we had 2 tame budgies that was a green and blue male both names Piphans. Also they are now seperated so they wont be confused about who Piphans is Piphans are many for they are one But today the baby blue piphans was more relaxed in the morning and i gave it clean water and food in form of seeds, cucumber and lettuce. Then after this royal meal then i could give it head scratches and cuddle with its cheeks and i could kiss its belly to. Then after that it started to chirp a bit while i was spending time with it outside its game on its playground. The "get inside the cage" part is still a problem but the summer is soon over and i dont need to have my windows open. Also we have small airwents build in the windows frame that i can open and close. I guess im living in a cage now When the clock is around 8 in the evening then it sits in a sling i installed on the lamp wire. Ands then it dosent say anything until 6.30 ish next morning. So i need to adjust my new bedtimes now
