The last two days in UK very hot weather. I have a bird bath for Oscar but he tends use it for drinking. I now have a electric fan blowing at his cage to keep him cool. Anyone got any idea's to keep budgies cool during very hot weather.

I have had Charlie’s food in the fridge, and a fan blowing near him. At around 2pm it was 35c ….then it got very windy and now it’s gone to 27c so feeling better.

One suggestion I've read is to fill a bowl with ice and water and set the fan so it blows over the surface. I've not tried it so don't know if it works.

It should help or you have say an ice block in front of it somehow, then it blows colder air

An ice block or two in their water helps keep it cool, or I find ceramic dishes do the same thing. Even if they object, a water spray with cool, not cold, water helps them keep cool if they won’t use their bath. Hanging a bird-safe twig in the cage after wetting it down gives them something else to cool themselves with.
