Is it ok for making toys as I have got some but it seems very 'hairy' so would the 2 ply be better ?

I've used 3-ply for the birbs.

“Hairy” is actually good as the fibres are shorter and easier for a bird to break if they chew on it or get themselves entangled. I haven’t used jute myself except as string as sisal is easier and cheaper for me to get.

Thanks Hezz, I removed the chain from one of their mirror toys as they really loved to pull at it and I didn't think it was a safe metal needless to say the boys are less impressed with their 'new' toy lol
