I've cleared the balcony a bit and put some water bowls on for the wild birds. I don't know if they will visit, but I feel better knowing there is water if they do as we're having some mega hot days of 30+ in London. I'll refresh it each day of course It's times like these I wish I had a garden.

I've been putting a bowl out for the outdoor flock. I know the pigeons appreciate it!

I'm sure the pigeons love it We get birds land on the balcony, but I am not sure if they will drop down to use the water, we'll see. Or more likely we wont see as they're hidden unless I stand up to look.

Great idea. I bet the birds are finding it hard to cope with as well.
You don’t have a stand of any sort that you can set the bowls on, Marianne? To make it more appealing to any feathered who may happen along?

No Hezz, I don't. I'll have to get a proper bird bath now!! I also bought these 2 cups that bolt on and also this feeder, I put my foreign finch food in, I hope they would eat that?? Just put them out this morning.

I had a bird feeder like that in our old place, along with 2 others, I never got a single bird to visit, I left them there for a few months, no one seemed interested.
I hope you have more success Marianne.
Is your balcony big enough that you can sit out in it, it looks a good size from your photograph.

jellybean, it is big enough to sit out on. But we don't for two reasons: - the budgies are out all day. - Eve would probably try and climb up over the railing.

To be honest, if a bird sneaked over for a drink, unless we were watching the balcony, we wouldn't know. I just feel better knowing there is water if they do wander over. Good thing is as we're on the 2nd floor, there is no risk of cats or foxes. Had you any luck yesterday Marianne?
