I'm glad you haven't seen Perryy have a seizure. It sounds like he's doing really well considering everything. And you are taking such wonderful care of him.
I make decisions about my day to fit in with Dexter too. We could go out in the evening if we wanted to since Dexter's bed time is between 10 and 11pm. It has more impact on our mornings. I wake him up about 1030am (we have blackout curtains in our lounge so he doesn't know he should be up earlier). Since he's been on his own we started going to our allotment first thing so we have to make sure we leave about 10am so we're home to wake him up. I'm sure our friends at the alloment think we're daft when we say we're going home to wake up our budgie!
I was the same with our rabbits, especially as they got older. 4.30pm was medicine time so I always had to be home at that time.

I have to agree with you there, Sweetpea. Budgies need a lot of care & attention to keep them healthy. It helps that I *want* to spend most of my time with them, of course! Me too. In fact, I wish I could spend *more* time with them...

I must admit I like spending time with them Can't say that for all people. Agree. My mum says that I have more patience for the budgies than I do her & I say, well that's because they have feathers!

People just don't understand Budgies, and what goes into keeping these little guys, we don't know what it is to get away on holiday, or even a weekend away. I won't go out at night because the birds have to be covered at 7/7.15pm. Got my Niece coming to stay at Xmas which is proving a bit of a nightmare as to where she'll sleep, because the birds have the spare room and I've no where else in the flat to put them so they won't be disturbed. Think she will have to sleep in the hall 😂😂 I haven't had a holiday or time away either. I knew that would be the deal when I got them. The times I've had friends say, "pop them in a travel cage & bring them too"... LOL @ your niece in the hallway - the birds are top priority! She'll cope!

I agree jellybean, I have not had a holiday since way before I got budgies. I also have to say no to going out in the evening as I have to put the budgies to bed Paul missed Eve being born because I sent him home to cover the budgies! (that was the Dr's fault as I was told that she wouldn't be born til the next day) I also carried my own bag back from hospital when I had been in for IV steroids one time as Snowy was on the verge of dying and I wanted one of us to be there. Ha ha, your niece will have to understand! I laughed hard at poor Paul missing Eve's birth!! Totally understandable though!

We have quite a long-drawn out bedtime routine that begins around 19:30 & stretches to midnight (last time I check under the cover before turning the last lamp off). Then I listen for another hour to make sure all is ok - legacy routine going back to when Bezukhov had seizures.

So glad that Perry is doing well re the seizures; not so good news about the lump. Hopefully it amounts to nothing.
