Hi I've recently bought 2 budgies from a reputable person, I've got a cage with a wire bottom,& the tray is underneath which is easy to pull out for cleaning. I've never seen this before & wonder if it is good or bad for my birds

As long as the gap between the wires is no more than 13mm, I don't see it's a problem. My cages feature similar false bottoms.
Budgies won't choose to spend much time on the floor of the cage, assuming they are fit and healthy.
Welcome to the forum! Pics of the cage and especially of your two budgies, would be most welcome.

All the cages I have had or seen have or have had a grate and a tray. The grates can be beggars of things to clean if the poop dries on them, most people put down newspaper or some other sort of paper over the grate and change this everyday. It is not hard. The tray helps catch the mess of eating, seed husks etc and the smaller feathers during a moult.
