Male/Female budgie? Health advice?

Thank you so much for all of your input. Yes I don’t think he looks in great health and also he doesn’t hardly move around the cage I imagine he must be depressed as he’s been on his own a lot. Makes me so sad to see the difference in him compared to Sol. I truly hope I can make him as happy as Sol is.
We haven’t decided on a name yet, I do have one in mind but we will see!
I will definitely sort his cage out I just don’t want to stress him any further just yet and let him settle a bit. I’ve also emailed my avian vet to ask if there’s anything I should be doing before he meets Sol. Hopefully he will let me know if there is. Thank you all xx

Thanks Hezz that’s what I am hoping too! So far today I’ve been singing to him and he’s been doing some tiny tweets I’m hoping that’s a good thing and not a distress tweet from how bad my singing is
Makes me so sad seeing him not moving about much though, I think Sol will really cheer him up when he meets him. The other thing is when I go up to see him he quivers as he’s so nervous poor little thing. Hopefully it’s just a time thing now for him getting used to us.

It does seem to me that he just needs time to get to know you and settle in. I'll just remind you to move very slowly around him especially if you're putting food in his cage or doing anything else in his cage. Lucky budgie to have been adopted by you.

Oh yes we are being very slow around him, that’s why I didn’t want to remove anything from his cage straight away or make it unfamiliar causing him further distress. I’m hoping to replace the whole cage once he’s settled in and after meeting Sol. I’d be too worried to try and move him into a new cage anytime soon as much as I want him out of the smokey cage!
