Greetings everyone, just a quick one to say that the last pair passed away last night, am hoping it was old age and not the fireworks, they were the last of the flock of 14. Will probably now take the aviary all down, as we will be having the garden revamped next year, we had planned around it to keep it but after a serious thought would be easier if it was gone. I wont be having anymore as can't keep them in the house due to everyones allergies to feathurs
Don't worry I will still be around and look in every now and again, it's always been a good read with a coffee in the mornings to catch up on all the goss, see what everyones up to

I'm so sorry to hear that your last pair of budgies have passed away, how sad for you.
Please feel free to write little passages about all of them in this thread, with photos if you want to.

I'm so sorry Steve, I hope it wasn't the fireworks, but seems the logical explanation to them passing together.
I HATE the b****y things and would ban them altogether if I had my way.
Rest in Peace little ones ❤❤
Glad you're going to stick around Steve.

Oh I’m so sorry that you lost them. RIP little ones
Such a shame re not having more indoors, but I know only too well how it can be.
So glad you’ll still be on here
It would be great to see pics of your garden when revamping.

I also am sad to hear the news. I hope your garden turns out exactly as you plan and will look forward to hearing from you in the future.

So sorry you lost your last pair. I'd like to think they are enjoying catching up with old friends over in that field full of abundant millet. Fly high little ones.

I am sorry to be reading this, Steve. If the fireworks weren’t the culprit, that would be one huge coincidence for the pair to have passed away together.
I hope your garden project works out just the way you see it. Good luck with it all, but so sorry that there will not be any more budgie friends for you.

I'm sorry that you've lost your last pair of budgies. I don't like fireworks. I would ban them too. Maybe some time in the future some more budgies might find there way into your life.

I'm sorry for your loss. I detest fireworks, always have, and even more so with how they can harm our birds. Although perhaps it is consolation that the last two went together and one was not left alone.

Thanks everyone really appreciate the comments and support, much appreciated
We probably had an aviary in the garden for about last 15yrs, started with 6 canarys , then we had over 20 all different finches, after that we had a bonkers pair of Kakis then we had the buds, last few years been looking after my dad so been finding it a bit hard work looking after the aviary as well as everything else I got going on . Just seems a good time to call it a day, must say this retirement is defo different, can't believe I did all of this and go to work lol
Will cya'll soon ...cheers Steve
