They are ever evolving. I have two nine-year-olds (Mango and Spyro), a one-year-old (Piper) and a possibly any age (Bunji). Bunji has made a bee-line for Mango and spends a lot of his time hanging around her cage, leaving the elder and the younger to their own devices and here is what we have: They spend more time during the day parked up in Loki’s cage than they do their own. Funny kids.

Is that Spyro and Piper?
Sorry, I read your words 5 times and couldn't work it out. But I know Spyro is a violet.

I take it its Bunji and Mango, Marianne. Budgies....You could never figure out their little minds, these 2 seems to love each others company. Does Loki not mind sharing his cage Hezz?

Im going to say it's Spyro and Piper but im probably wrong, a budgie version of behind the bike shed, Loki wont mind I don't think Lady Mango is allowed gentleman callers inside her residence, they can visit behind bars i think but that's it, probably wrong again

Sorry for the confusion, everyone! That’s Spyro giving Piper a preen! You could have knocked me down with a feather, as the very appropriate saying goes. And, skysmum, you are spot on - Mango is too fragile to share anymore so she has her own special cage. Bunji spends his time hanging off the sides getting as close as possible to her as he can. jellybean, before our move there is no way I’d even allow Loki loose in the same room as the two newer boys, Piper and Bunji. He would act all innocent, behave himself for just long enough for me to think that he was maybe getting over his animosity, and then pounce. I swear he would wait until they were holding onto the sides of the cage, THEIR cage, and fly over and bite their feet, or try to. But now I am happy to say that everyone shares happily, as I had hoped all along. It was as though the change of scene reset his boundaries and attitude. The budgies have the smallest bedroom to themselves most of the day but if I need to, Loki and go in and join them, all out of the cage (except Mango) without a drama. I do have to shut the budgies’ cage door as Loki will go in and wreak their toys and their swings - dainty toys not made for his strong beak. He doesn’t even get too grumpy if they go to share his food. Sometimes he lets them, sometimes he just gives them a little bop.

With all our little characters, I'm amazed that you seem to remember them all Marianne Marlow!

I wouldn't say all. Sometimes I am stumped. But I always remember Spyro, as he broke his leg when he was younger. Also he's a violet and we don't see many of those on the forum. With all our little characters, I'm amazed that you seem to remember them all Marianne Marlow!

He did, M and seems to not ever had a problem with it since. We had a toe issue a while back, not sure what happened there either, but except for the small back toe all others are in good working order. He’s just too fat, though, and slowing down. I can’t seem to get the weight off him - not as big a space to fly around in, I guess.

Poor Spyro. It seems like no matter how much space you give them, some get podgy and some don't.
Sky zoomed about like a loony all the time and lived until 12 years barely being over 45g. He had the same space as everyone else.

My heaviest budgie is not the largest in stature - it's Herman. He does look hench though rather than chubby, with a big chest. I sometimes call him my muscle-budgie.

My lightest was Monty. I don't think he ever weighed over 30g his entire budgie life. He was tiny, but we called him King Monty. Sorry for busting in on your post HezzThe tiny King
