Sorry to post something new without replying to the response on my previous post, but I'm currently having a much bigger problem. Long story short, someone burned popcorn in my house, and we opened all the windows asap, cranked up the air humidifiers/air purifiers, and turned on as many fans as possible.. I know we should have moved Arthur as soon as it happened but my dad was hesitant and I wasn't sure what to do, so I didn't. It's been about 15 minutes since it burned. Arthur seems completely fine, he's been singing and playing, seeming very happy, and has only been showing distress when all of us were scrambling and carrying fans around. I'm hoping we dodged a bullet but I'm worried about delayed effects, and I'm not sure if we should move him now or to sleep tonight in a different room, either downstairs or in a bedroom further away from the kitchen. He's in the living room, the kitchen is the room right next to it. (We can't close doors, it's open concept, although I could put sheets up in the doorframes. All of the smoke seems gone, but we can still smell the burned smell. Any advice is greatly appreciated because I am currently panicking
Edit: should I also replace his food and water?

I feel any unwelcome reaction to the smoke would happen relatively quickly, and as you posted this an hour ago, if he is still okay then I think you have dodged a bullet. He should be fine.

Was it just popcorn or the microwave popcorn in a bag? The popcorn bag is usually treated with non-stick chemicals that are toxic if inhaled. If he seems fine now, its probably ok. You can put him in a different room overnight just to be cautious.

Hezz Thank you, I am relieved all around with how this seems to have turned out (knock on wood). It might be time for a new microwave, this one is horrible and I am just sick of it tweetiepiesmom It was a popcorn bag, but the popcorn we have has no PFOAs or Diacetyl (it's specifically labeled on the box)

Also, apologies for the frantic message. After we did everything to mitigate the smoke, I was trying to find any info on post effects, and I really couldn't find any. Arthur is doing well, thank you all again for your advice and knowledge!
