Budgie not eating new seed

I have had my budgie for a year & a half now & despite him being very fussy with only eating very select & limited types of fruit & veges I haven't had any problems with other sources of food...until now...normally I have been buying the bulk bag of bird seed from pet store but just recently I was desperate for some birdseed & had to buy a box of Trill from the super market. It has been 2 days & my budgie has not touched it...he goes close to the food tray but won't sit & feed from it as usual. I've then inspected the seed to see if there's something wrong with it, ie bugs or mould, but there's nothing obvious to me that is wrong! So I emptied out his tray & refilled with more Trill seed & still no luck with him eating any...can anyone advise what could be the problem, has my budgie become too used to the other brand of seed or there's some other problem?

I've never used Trill. Due to comments in this forum concerning it, I probably never will! Something to do with undesirable additives.

I suspect the advice here will be, find some other kind of budgie seed ASAP!

Hopefully a more thorough response is forthcoming.

When changing over from one seed to another, it's usually wise to mix the two seeds, gradually reducing the amount of the old seed and changing over to the new.

Trill is not the best seed to be honest, too much oats, dust and twigs.

I agree with Marianne about mixing, and also Trill is ####……..A lot of us on the site get our seed from Haiths.com. , also a lot use Budgie Bravo bird seed.
They are not open today but you could order online and they deliver very quickly. If you prefer to phone them tomorrow the number is 08002987054.
Do you have any millet? For now you could just try mixing some with the Trill to tempt him…..
