I'm glad the cornstarch helped as I don't think wrapping would help much. Too much biting and foot-worrying would seem a likely result. I'd be going wild with the lack of local support. I don't have access to qualified avian vets where I am but I do at least have some willing individuals with an interest in birds.
Alas, my time in the ME has taught me that unless it's a camel or a trained falcon, there's little interest in the welfare of animals there.

Oh gosh, how did it happen?
Cornstarch was the best thing your friend could do. I hope the little budgie is okay
I must admit I just use bog standard flour and it seems to do the job. George's lump has bled a few times and also Penny lost a toenail recently through possibly Iris biting it, but it happened so fast that I really have no idea if that is how it happened.

Ohh sounds awful How is penny now? Will the toenail grow back ?
We don’t know how it happened We assumed he’s biting it because it’s the same one that’s been held up for days but we didn’t see him bite it so we’re not really sure
We calmed down a bit d at once the bleeding stopped, we’re thinking about bringing him to me so I can keep an eye on him because my friend has to go to work tomorrow (he stayed for fido today) not sure what’s gonna happen I will keep you posted

I think Penny still has a milimetre of toenail left so it might grow back a little, I am not sure. She is fine actually. She is a biter, so my husband had plasters on to hold her and I inspected the nail and administered flour. I have been keeping an eye on it to make sure it stays clean.
It would seem odd that he made his own foot bleed unless it's irritating him in some way.

I’m glad she’s doing better it’s amazing what you’re doing and how you’re caring for them ❤️
Yeah I agree with you I wish we knew how it happened and why

Often biting at their feet is a sign of a neurological problem - tingling, pins and needles, or pain. Unfortunately not much we can do without a proper diagnosis. Hopefully it is just sheer frustration at his foot not being normal, as this should all resolve itself.
I’m not sure how effective a collar would be, I can see him lifting his foot up to outside the collar’s effectiveness, and you need to be very careful about wrapping the foot itself. I can’t quite see where the damaged has been done; is it the foot or his leg?

The injury seems to be on the claw (nail) The bleeding has stopped but we still don’t know the reason We’re hoping it would heal on its own because as you pointed out that collars and bandages aren’t good options thankfully he’s eating and getting better Hope it’s not a neurological issue Time will tell Thanks for your reply Will keep you posted

Or must give him MT again? We really appreciate all your help you’ve been giving all our birds for all these years ❤️🐥 we’re so grateful

Poor thing. His feathers look unusual. He is clearly an adult but has baby bars Ohh yeah I actually asked here about this when it started around a year ago We thought it’s weird too He’s almost 5 years old He seems to be doing better but still struggling to use it normally We really think it’s a neurological thing like what Hezz said We’re gonna start with (vitamin B complex) just like homer (helped him a lot) hopefully it helps him too and fast Will keep you posted
