Your friend will need to keep up the milk thistle for the rest of his life, unfortunately. If he were a young(er) bird there is the possibility of the damage being reversed and then you would need vet advice anyway which you don’t have. Reversal has occurred with young budgies with proper vet care, which Fido is not able to access. You can see by his beak that his liver is still compromised even though the lipoma may have shrunk which is a good thing as it does mean that a) it is a lipoma and b) his problem is fatty liver disease and not something else.

That’s so good to hear (that since it shrunk it’s not something else) He bit it again today and bled a little (I will add a pic) I told him about what you said about the milk thistle Hezz and he said he’ll give it to him again immediately Thanks for the information you gave us it’s great to know We really appreciate your help so much

Sorry, I should clarify my statement about Fido’s liver. What I meant was that his over growing beak, bruising and the lipoma were all symptoms of his liver’s ill-health. The foot biting, possible neurological issues, is still another worry. I am extrapolating here, and thinking out loud if you like, that the foot problem may be not helped by an over large liver with the liver taking up extra space and pressing on nerves that run to his legs and feet. Often these issues are only noticed by us when the foot or leg are impacted as is happening with your Fido. This doesn’t explain the seizure, though, which suggests a separate issue for the poor boy. In your, or your friend’s case all you can do is treat the symptoms not the cause as you have no way of finding out what the cause may be. Hope that makes more sense.

Thanks dear Hezz It’s very clear now I will tell him everything that you said We really appreciate all the information that you’re giving us and have been giving us for years ❤️ Our birds and we are very thankful and grateful ❤️🐥🙂 Hopefully with (MT) his liver will get better and as you said that we can only treat his symptoms And we got him (vitamin B complex) hopefully it will help his neurological condition like it did with homer We’re hopeful Thanks again and we will keep you posted 👍
