I’m trying to make a collar and was wondering if felt is safe? I’ve actually seen so many birds on YouTube wearing felt collars, but I have to ask my trusted source 🙂

It wouldn’t be my first choice, but I have seen the same. I suppose it is popular because of its slight rigidity. For my thinking it would be too easy for a chewer to make a mess of it - I’ve had bits of felt on small animal toys and had to remove the felt bits, these were on Loki’s little “hump buddies” and he definitely made a mess of the material. What about very fine leather? Fine as in thin through, on the profile, but wide-ish pieces. Or very light canvas? I don’t know what else to suggest except ask your helpful vet whether he has any suggestions.

Actually canvas paper sounds like a great idea I found (100% cotton) I just ordered it thanks Definitely worth a try 👍 I couldn’t find leather though I’m leaning towards the canvas idea Thanks again for your Hezz suggestion ❤️

No worries; just hope it works. Good luck with it.

Sadly the canvas that I found is treated chemically so I can’t use it 😣 ( I’m back to square one ) I’m gonna have to keep trying till I find a solution because he won’t stop biting it even when I’m just removing the gauze for only 15 minutes And we can’t keep wrapping it with gauze forever I’m hoping to find a good solution

That’s a shame. Is there a way you could make something up out of thin cardboard? I’m thinking something thin like the kids use for their projects.
