My two boys are looking a bit under the weather, fluffed up and not as active. A couple weeks ago, Buddy vomited as I covered him for the night. I took him to the vet the next day. She examined him and said he looked healthy and maybe he just got a bit of bad food. Last night, he again vomited as I covered him. He's been 'sort of' ok today. Not quite as active/noisy but no more vomiting. Today is the day that I do a more thorough cleaning. I'm concerned that he may have a low grade infection although he is molting. I thought I'd give them ACV water. As I recall, its 3 drops in 100ml of water - correct?
I do have some Guardian Angel. How do you feed that to your budgies?
Thanks!

GA I give sprinkled on the food.

Guardian angel is best put in the water, but I think it can be sprinkled on food too.
But it does make the water a funny colour.
I can't remember how much ACV to use as I only use it intermittently. I hope Buddy is ok.

I always figured that I knew the buds were getting GA if it's on the seeds whereas who knows when they'll be bothered to have a drink?

My boys are getting ACV water now and I sprinkled the Guardian Angel on their seeds. I'm worried about Buddy. Yesterday he was very quiet and napping alot. He did come out for a couple fly arounds but didn't come sit on me like he usually does. He's also been fluffed up and makes those motions with his head like he's going to vomit. He has been eating like normal, poops look normal, not bobbing his tail, and he and Tweetie Pie have been huddling together, kissing and preening each other. He is molting and he may just have an irritation in his crop or possibly a minor infection. I'll be keeping an eye on him, ready to run to the vet if he seems to need it.

I've had one or two of mine behave similarly, identical symptoms. Not bad enough to get panicky over but not well enough not to worry. I think your strategy is a good one. I very much look forward to hearing that Buddy is feeling better, very soon.

The three drops per 100mls of water is a preventative dose, TPM. If you think it is doing any good you can increase this up to ten-fold to combat any potential pathogens, as long as the birds will drink it. If they are not used to it, a higher dosage might seem unpalatable to them initially.

Buddy seemed better yesterday (Friday), chirping more. He's still a little less active than normal but eating ok and poops are normal. Ordinarily I'd contribute it to his molting but the vomiting has me worried. I haven't seen him vomit again and am keeping an eye on him. He did come out and fly around and land on me as he typically does to let me know its time for their daily ration of seeds.
This morning is foggy and both boys are quiet, sleeping in.

That sounds a bit encouraging, TPM! I hope very much that Buddy is feeling better.

Buddy seemed more like himself on Sunday, singing and flying around. He landed on me a few times. I do have a new pair of reading glasses which are a different color. That scared Buddy off a couple of times. When I put my nose tip on his beak, he nipped it. Another time I brought him on my finger to the rim of the glasses and he reached down and nipped my cheek. How dare I change my eyeglasses without getting his permission! Happy that he's more like himself.

I'm glad Buddy is feeling better and certainly well enough to restore some much-needed discipline to the household.
