This morning Buddy seemed fine and lively. I put him back in his cage at about 10 and he didn’t move and looked fluffed up all day . He perked up at around 5 and cam out for a while. I just know he is not his usual self…….it’s not possibly for me to get him to the vets or I definitely would get him checked. I just can’t think what could be wrong with him but there is something. .. all I can is give him GA .

I hope Buddy is just feeling under the weather and can shake this off. So worrying for you, Ladybird. Hoping the best for you both.

Thank you Hezz , Do you know what causes the crash on such a young bud? I don’t think age has any bearing on a drop in blood sugar, but for their diet over all it is recommended to not feed too much fruit etc at any one time so that the possibility of the “crash” is reduced, and not to feed a high-sugar diet and then suddenly change, also if they are fond of things such as corn, carrots, sweet potato, sugar snap peas for example to not feed all at once at one time of the day. But you are saying that Buddy is still not back to his normal self so I do doubt his was a hypoglycaemic crash, so no easy answers there, I’m afraid.

I've seen Squeak go from very poorly and worrisome to her current status as Dark Queen & Terror of All the Budgies.
I'm hopeful that Buddy can beat whatever is troubling him.

I hope Buddy will be okay now and it's just a one off. Annoying that you can't get him to the vet

Yesterday Buddy had a really good day very lively eating well etc…….The morning he seemed the same, flew to me straight away when I came in for breakfast……he was playing on my arm chewing at my bracelet, and I felt him go a bit floppy, and then he sat motionless. after some 10 mins I went to put him back in his cage and his wings drooped right down again. He sat an his perch and is just sitting there quiet and fluffed up…………..We have the decorator here and he told me there is a new vets. Opened in our town and they are good……….Like I have said I cannot drive because of my eyes and hubby doesn’t drive far and the only qualified vet is 40 miles away so out of the question………sorry for long story. I have booked him into this one near by this afternoon they say they deal with all animals………what else can I do? I do know I won’t want any blood tests. Too risky. I feel so helpless and depressed.

Buddy's symptoms sound very worrying indeed. I would feel just as you are feeling now.
A nearby vet is the best news, Ladybird. The local vet has the option to contact an avian vet for advice and he/she should be urged to do so.

Yes I will do that and I don’t want to be be just fobbed off with Baytril . He hasn’t moved since I put him back in his cage, just squatting on the perch, no tail bobbing but his wings are drooped. After all we went through last year with Charlie I can’t help it’s something I am doing , but he has good seed, egg food that he does eat a lot of and greens such as broccoli, basil etc….all washed. .

I'm so sorry to hear that Buddy is still not his usual self.
I hope the vet has some answers for you this afternoon.

I am sure we all feel that way when we are worried about our birds, i know I do I completely panic and worry I am not good enough to keep them, BUT we are good budgie owners, we willl do anything to make sure they are ok. I know it is easy to say and hard to do but if you can do some deep breathing to help with the feelings you have it will help both you and Buddy as he will know you are calm around him. Much love and ‘force’ for a good outcome xxx

It's nothing you are doing, Ladybird, I am entirely confident of that but I know the feeing of guilt you describe.
