On Saturday a friend sent me a message via whatsapp of a little budgie on Freecycle.  After a few messages back and forth with her owners, it was established that her partner died and they wanted her to live with someone that already had a few budgies. They'd had a lot of interest already, but not from someone with birds. I went and picked her up on Tuesday, it was a 25 minute bus ride and a 5 minute walk. My face was really hot and red when I got there as I have had a migraine for a week and it was a warm day. Plus I get stressed traveling alone as I have massive anxiety but couldn't find anyone to come with me. I found it easily thanks to the very detailed instructions Paul made me! Ayla was tiny, but amazingly she hopped on my hand and I was able to pluck her out of the cage with ease. Bus ride home and this was her in her box.  loz I have 10 and that is my limit..  |

She's very small and quiet for a hen. I wonder if her personality will change when she settles in?

Ayla has a song that is just tiny squeaks and whistles. Unlike Daisy and Iris that can sing just like the boys.

Makes sense! Abbie (the destroyer) also sang like that. She would drop herself into a crowd of boys and they would all scatter. She was fierce! That's how Squeak got her name |

Looking back on the messages, they have said about 15 months old, thanks for the reminder to update my spreadsheet.
I really didn't think I'd be adopting another budgie so soon after Barney, but it was hard to say no as on freecycle anything could have happened to her.
