I am wondering if we should get a cage for Griffin + another Budgie. Griffin is more of a "pushover" than the other birds. He is not badly harassed, but he gets pushed away from food and treats more often. It's not unusual for him to fly somewhere else in the bird room and sit by himself for a little while. For now, I've improved the situation by having five perches and multiple food dishes.
Thunder is similar to Griffin - but slightly more confident - so he would be my first choice. Or Griffin could live with Willow. (Topaz and Basil are best friends. They often go everywhere in the room together.)
Is this a bad idea? Should I just "leave well enough alone"?

Personally, I’m for leaving them to sort things for themselves, unless there is aggression involved. A feeding pot each has worked for me, placed around the cage as far apart as possible. There is always one who tries to hog the seed pots but I’ve usually found that after the initial push and shove they do settle down and feed relatively freely.

After further thought, I am leaning toward not changing anything. Griffin never has any wounds, and he does eventually eat something. Maybe he is just not a strong-willed bird.
