My budgie who is 3 years old had a fall to the bottom of her cage earlier and was in clear discomfort, i quickly picked her up and got her settled in my hand, looking at her left wing she has a lump/air bubble, quite concerned about it, does any know much about these?

Agree with Hezz, we need a photo to see what the area looks like.

If you use the desktop version of this site, you can attach them in the message box by using the "add image to post" button. Or you can upload them to another photosharing website and link it here. If all else fails, email them to me at budgerigarsforum@gmail.com and I will upload them to this post.

Not a great photo, do you have a better one?
Could be either a feather cyst or fatty lump..

I have spoken with the vets and have an appointment booked for thursday, so just going to monitor her until then, they think its a feather cyst like you said. Thanks.

It does look like a feather cyst to me, as well. Let us know how you get on at the vets, please.

Hi both
Got her over to the vets this morning and it is pretty much confirmed as a cyst, it may be something she has maybe already had a peck at, hence her being in shock to begin with when she first looked in discomfort.
Other than the one minute she was uneasy for, she has been fine ever since, whistling, dancing and still eating/drinking.
The vets have given us two weeks worth of antibitotics and said the bubble/cyst should just burst on its own, which releases a gooey liquid.
So its just a wait and see now!
Thanks

I'm glad she got on well at the vets and hope she's all better soon. What's her name?

What a sweet girl Luna is.
I had a budgie with a very large feather cyst and it did burst after a few weeks and his wing went back to normal.
Hope she's recovering well.
