Good boy, Rocky! Poor Finrod. One of his wings has a bit of blood on it but the other looks very bloody. I've searched for discarded blood feathers but nothing yet. I cannot see any obvious missing feathers on his wings. I'm either looking at a couple of shed blood feathers or he may have been attacked. I am reluctant to capture the lad to inspect his wings in order to try to satisfy my curiosity. Finrod is acting fairly normally, his flying is absolutely fine. Right now he's on the sky snake nearest me, burbling & singing very sweetly. I'm not sure what to make of it as yet. I hope it's only due to feathers being shed. At least he is acting normal.

Busy day today, many, many chores need doing. I loved seeing Finarfin just now trying to sneak in to see Isabeau. Whistle chased him into the kitchen where they proceeded to feed each other. Mr Hibs tried to barge in for a share, and the two friends chased him off. Whistle & Finarfin are such good friends.
Next, I sprayed Quincy (had to spray myself too as she was of course on my shoulder). She wasn't keen. I then sprayed Coco up in the sky snake. She was wings- and tail-spread, hanging upside-down, absolutely loving it. Remind me to video that, next time!

I'm glad Coco enjoys being sprayed that is great. Rocky seems to like it too!

I read the comments about spraying when I was tired last night, and I accidentally read "spaying" at first. With the "spaying" and "barking", I briefly wondered if I was at the wrong forum.

Oooh, just watch his little feet with sanded perches as they can cause bumble foot, sorry 🥴 Yes, I had read about that, so I only installed two sanded perches in the Budgie cage. They also have rope perches and natural wood/branch.

Sprite (Sun Conure), Kona, and Pepper (Cockatiels) are in their cages. The Budgies are "loose", but seven of them are choosing to sit inside the cage. Nimbus is patrolling the top.

Misfit sitting on a rope perch last night:
She now stands on my hand while eating food. She can also fly better. (Her wings had been clipped short at the pet store, which is often the case.)

Not now, but at 6am Daisy had a night fright. I tried to calm her and she eventually got back on her perch.
Chipper, who she shares a cage with, was fine.
I was not able to cover her cage. Daisy would not blink at me, which I knew meant that she was still in a heightened state and would flap about if I tried to put the cover on.
I put the lamp down a notch and closed the curtain, then went back to bed until 8am.

Poor Daisy It's good to pay attention to what our little lovelies want and need, rather than to always stick to "the rules".
