The Flock is acting normally now but five minutes ago ... I wandered into the kitchen just now, Quincy on my shoulder. A stream of budgies also bound for the kitchen flew past my head which startled Quincy, who took to the air. This in turn startled the budgies and I was treated to an incredible sight - a kitchenful of birds, a seven/eight budgie tornado which also included a cockatiel. It was an astonishing thing to see. The budgies then tried to stream past me, out of the kitchen. That was scary . Boba ran past me, she was out of puff, bless her

You have enough for a tornado, Azalea

Coco is sitting on the back of my armchair with me. What's remarkable is, not only did she stay there when I got up just now, she also stayed put when I (carefully ) returned to my seat The other evening she wanted to land on me when I was on the sofa and chose the back of my hand as a landing site. First time! She didn't stay there, though, hands are very sketchy things after all. Isabeau is out & about but is currently having a rest next to her cage. The lounge (bird room) seems almost empty today, a lot of budgies are electing to play in the lobby, kitchen and, for some reason, my bedroom. I don't have an aviary, I live in one. Chocobo has just wandered up to me to ask for a treat so I gave her a bobble of millet.

Time is getting on, I'd best start the vacuuming ...

I just returned Isabeau to her apartment. At some point in her "isolation" programme, she has become a committed biter I had to wear the handling gloves in order to be able to hold her. She used to be so sweet-tempered about being handled!

I just watched Smudge stamp her way through the width of the Forage Gym with a toy in her mouth and then hurl it off the side, onto the floor ... and I cannot stop laughing.

Last night, before the birds' "bed time", my husband stuck his head into the Cockatiel cage and had a loud whistling session with Kona.
We went to a few places yesterday, including a location of a pet store that we don't usually stop at. We felt sad for a lonely-looking female Cockatiel and a scared Green Cheek Conure. We need to remind ourselves that we can only save so many.

Another egg today, Azalea. That's three in the past five or six days She seems very fit & healthy - right now she's hover-flying off a perch in her apartment - but I am worried. I hate the thought that I will have to move her (and perhaps, Eva) upstairs to get her away from any contact with males. Not that she's given any opportunity for mating but perhaps interaction through the bars is enough to trigger her egg-laying process. Whistle was trying to feed her yesterday.

Finarfin is looking crossly at Eva. She had just landed on his head and neck, squashing him into the litter in the Forage Gym and squeezing a little noise out of him. I feel annoyed but I couldn't stop laughing. Poor Finarfin, she is no lightweight, that Eva.

Is he a "pushover" gentleman type, like our Griffin and Thunder? Finarfin used to be a truly feisty young man but these days, apart from a passing (and ill-advised) attraction towards Chocobo, he's sensible and holds his ground. No one could have anticipated Eva's "landing". There was no malice in it, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Squeak is super-sulking because I have put a stop to her digging in the herb pots. That started yesterday. Today, I have been using the squirter to move her on. (Chocobo was uninvolved but still gave her "I'm not happy!" call to register her disapproval. She really doesn't like the squirter.) Squirting Squeak was a temporary measure whilst some stones from the garden were being washed & sterilised. These are now in place. Squeak watched the whole process carefully and is most displeased.
