On Friday I was in touch with a parrot rescue that wanted to find a temporary foster home for a budgie found outside. I was going to look after him, but if his owner was found I'd hand him back to them. Unfortunately his health took a down-turn and he never made it to me. He passed away earlier today. I was excited that I'd be taking him in and I'd even picked out a name - Apollo. I'm sorry that you didn't live long enough to join us little guy. I hope that what ever life you did have was a happy one. I lit a candle for you after mass today.  Picture taken by parrot rescue. |

I am. I mourned him when they said he was ill, then he seemed to eat a bit, then I mourned him again when they told me he had passed away  That's so said, Marianne. I'd be in bits. Fly high, Apollo. Rest easy now little guy |

Thanks everyone. Shame we'll never know what his story was as no one came forward to claim him. I looked on the usual lost and found sites and could not find anything there either :-(

Poor little fellow. He must have had a rough time of it outside. Hopefully his life before that was a happy one.

Thank you all. I like to think of Apollo being greeted by all the other budgies we have lost over the years.
That would be one noisy welcome for him.
