Has anybody ever used soya protein. It appears to be very rich in protein i.e. 48% which I think would be very good.

I haven't. I'd be interested in hearing responses though.

I have a recipe that is very useful if your birds need a boost of
extra protein, or use it as part of a healthy diet.
You will need some Soya beans.
(1) Soak a quantity of beans, in the ratio of. 1 cupful in 4 cupfuls
of water for 24hrs.
(2) Next day, boil the beans in fresh water & keep them on a low
boil for 20min.
(3) Strain, mash & mix with bread/biscuit or dry egg food & serve.
The boiling removes the toxin (Trypsin) found in Soya beans.
Yours B. J.

We used to use soya flour with the poultry to increase the protein levels during the growth period but gave up after concerns over sterility were put forward in New Zealand
