What a little cutie.....you might also try a radio....he/she has come from a place where there were other budgies making all types of noise to a quiet place with no other budgies....we have found that ours like the local BBC station.... ;D As for feeding....try and remember in what way your budgie's feeding was settle up in the cage the breeder had him in....some use small bowls in the bottom of the cage....we have found it best to try and set up the cage based on their past environment and go from there....and as Marianne said....spreading some seed on the floor may help.... Hopefully he/she is trying to adjust to his new home....

Okay. Have you got any apple, herbs, spinach, carrot or other fruit or veg?
Get two pieces and eat one in front of him while offering him the other one. Also put the seed on the cage floor - scattered around.

breeder was completely useless ;'( just said i need to get him to eat and drink ;'( Well that was not helpful.....but you can't force him to eat....I must ask....what is the little one's name....and don't worry....you have a wonderful support system here that will help you....the first few days he will be checking out his new home and the new "flock" (which is you and your family).... ;D

We have an Ollie too.....but make sure if you have to leave him alone that you leave the radio on for him....as they are social little things and are not fond of quiet.....and before you know it he will be singing and dancing and giving you his political views of the days events.... ;D
And don't forget the fruit and veg....he may not take to it at the beginning but always offer something....today mine have apple, basil, broccoli, celery, and kale....I think there is a list somewhere on the forum of what they can and cannot have.....

He is responsible for making sure the bird is fully weaned before selling it on to a new owner.

Hi and welcome to the forum You have a gorgeous little budgie there. Everyone has given you great advice so far so there isn't much i can add. During the first week or so your budgie will be settling in so it may take him a while to start to eat in front of you let alone drink anything. One of my budgies, who I got last December, won't drink in front of people, in fact I have never seen her drink at all! May I ask what type of water bowl your budgie has, is it the same as the one they had at the breeders? Also get some millet spray and hang a piece in the cage using a peg next to where the budgie sits, that should entice him/ her. I wouldn't bother asking that grumpy breeder anymore questions, just come and ask us we are always happy to help.
