Is there any specific time of year for budgies to moult - more than others? My two have started now, Mischief has lost a lot on one side and looks rather strange but not quite so bald as she has been before on her head! Sid seems to moult differently, not so drastically but over a longer period of time. I'm so glad I live in an age of electrical appliances and have a hand held vacuum to hoover the seed and feathers up!

I think a lot would depend on the climate in your house. I find that my three usually go in relays - one starts and nearly finishes and another starts and then the third, so it seems to go on forever. But I am sure in an aviary situation that the birds would have definite cycles with the weather/breeding cycles.
