Ive waited to post this until i had more time, sorry if its a bit long.
On Saturday morning i went out to the aviary as usual and little Freddy was sat out in the outside flight all alone, i didn't think too much about it as there is often just one out there.
On going inside Teddy was standing the other side of the little door which leads to the outside and he was being very vocal. As i stood taking in an unusual scene Freddy came down to the door and stuck her head inside, Teddy was getting very excited and it looked as if they were playing peek a boo . This went on for a couple of minutes each bobbing there heads in and out, how sweet i thought .
Then the penny dropped i keep the little flight door half cocked, its on a screw and swivels, i leave it like this all the time to let them come and go as they please but also it cuts out the worst of the draft. WELL, it would appear that it had dropped very slightly which meant that they couldn't get in or out .
This can only mean one thing little Freddy must have been out all night , how bad do i feel. Once i realised and opened it fully Freddy came shooting through only to be given a real telling off from Teddy, he was right up in her face really scolding her, poor little thing. Needless to say the door has been fixed, I'm just so glad we weren't away on holiday as i never keep food outside only water. Anyway a lesson learn't, I'm a very very bad mother.
