how about a few plants . Cheaper, raise humidity, and remove toxins from the air, and adds oxygen back. You could also put a small container of water on a radiator, as it evaporates it adds moisture to the air.

cheers Ryaan...Need budgie friendly plants-any surgestions? spider plant (i think it's also called the plane plant) is one of the best, grows quite fast if given enough light, it also produces little "baby" planlets so it's easy to get more, not to mention cheap to buy, It also has nice white flowers if cared for and is safe for the budgies. The christmas cactus has lovely pink flowers and is safe for budgies too. Both are very common at garden centres, i got a christmas cactus for £2.99 (which is VERY cheap for my Garden centre) and i asked them to order some smaller spider plants in (the bigger ones are unbelievably expensive!) i think they where about £4.99 not as cheap but they grow fast as i said and eventually produce 10's of mini plants which you can pot on. Aloe - a plant renowned for it's healing properties (for burns i think, if you look it up on Barrie Shutts website - he has a page on Aloe - www.officialbarrieshuttbudgerigars.com/aloeforbirdkeepers.htm ), you should be able to pick this up at garden centres pretty cheap too. The boston fern is a nice plant too and is again safe for budgies. These are about the most common, if you wanted something bigger, the Yucca would be safe for the budgies too. Eucalyptus is also very fast growing, evergreen, and has nice foliage and is 100% safe for budgies. The peace Lily is about the most renowned for it's ability to cope with almost no light and it's air purifier properties BUT it is sadly poisonous, perhaps you could put a cover over it though whilst the budgies are out?.
