I was a member of the old forum and not been on for a while , got a bit down with the birds but am back now and here's a bit about me again and also what happened with my last go at breeding them .
Ive had budgies on and of since i was a kid when i first bred them with my dad , hell that was a long time ago , had quite a few years break from them and about 3 years ago mananged to get some exhibition type breeding stock of a breeder but got no where fast with them , out of 6 pairs i got only one pair laid eggs and then these just kept throwing them out of the box , tryed swapping round the pairs and still to no avail , couldnt get any of them to go down on eggs ( never had any of these problems when i bred them as a kid with my dad in an unheated brick out buliding ) then i started loosing them and now 3 years later just have one pair left out of all of them .
Ive still got all my Moncaster breeding cages so have decided to give it another go , now need to find some stock , would preferably like to get 2 or 3 proven breeding pairs this time to see if i might have any more succsess , the other thought that went through my mind was to just get pet type birds as they seem to breed for fun .

Hi David
Welcome to the forum.
Sorry that you have not had much luck with your birds.
Hopefully this will change!

Im hoping so , ive bred and show cavies for many years but finding the cleaning out and stuff difficult these days as i have to do everything from a chair and also have a severe allergy to shavings , am a wheelchair user but hey that doesn't stop me doing owt lol , its just the birds are much easier to look after with cleaning out and stuff and because i dont get out much on a daily basis animals have always been my life .
Now i need to find some breeding birds from someone .

Where are you based?
Someone on here may be able to help you. I take it you want exhibition type and not pet type birds (some people breed both)

Im in Manchester , would be able to travel around the northwest as my partner would take me them , preferably would like birds of breeding age / some proven breeding pairs to get me going , i do love exhibition type but might not be able to get to shows and am also wondering if pet type might be easier to breed .

Hi David, and welcome. Some would say pets are easier to breed and others will disagree, but maybe you can mix and match with good results. BB does just that (smile for the camera, BB), and seems to have good results, but for now you need to find a breeder somewhere close.
