Hi Just like to mention, that as you don't know what colours etc. your birds are carrying in split form. ie, what colours their parents/grandparents. Any suggestions would guesses, educated or otherwise. Yours B.J.

You cannot tell a green budgie split for a blue budgie, from green budgies, you have to use DNA to see whether green budgies are carry blue genes or lutino genes, or not. I do not use DNA from budgies.
I do not have book of budgerigars, about how to colour breeding these budgies and what fledling / juvenile budgie will look like, say you breed a pair of light green budgies, you get light green chicks.
I did not know which is which the best books of budgies, for colour-breeding these budgies.
Cheers
Clinton.

1) I have a male dark green normal budgie which courted the female skyblue opaline budgie, when I breed them, will they produce the all green normal chicks If the dark green is not split for blue or opaline: 50% dark green normal 50% light green normal If the dark green is split for blue: 25% dark green 25% light green 25% cobalt 25% sky blue If the cock is split for opaline half of the chicks will be opaline If you have got the yellow face types right all the chicks will be single factor type 2 yellow face cobalt. Half of them will also have the type 1 yellow face gene but you wont be able to see it If the hen is not split for blue & the cock is not split for opaline: 25% dark green 25% dark green violet 25% olive 25% olive violet You may not be able to tell visually which ones are violet 12.5% opaline sky blue female 12.5% opaline spangle sky blue female 12.5% yellow face opaline sky blue female 12.5% yellow face opaline spangle female 12.5% sky blue male 12.5% spangle sky blue male 12.5% yellow face sky blue male 12.5% yellow face spangle male Yes, the expected result would be: 50% single factor yellow face 25% double factor yellow face 25% white face Yes, All the chicks would be double factor yellow face Golden face is a brighter shade of yellow than the type 2. It is slightly orange. There is a lot of confusion between the two types and they are often incorrectly identified – especially if the identification is from photos. Also because the types are often bred together it is not always possible to correctly identify the mutations from breeding records unless you are able to study several generations

Thankyou very much, but I think you would try google (via computer) and write "list of colours", then look for colour,...etc cream or gold or canary yellow as I still don't had idea what goldenfaced budgie look like as I thought I had never seen goldenfaced budgies.
Yellow-faced type 1st have dark cream face. Yellow-faced type 2nd have pale canary yellow face. Goldenfaced...orangish yellow ? gold ? face.
