i have 2 young uns in their own cage and they simply love Basil!!! these and i placed my hand in the cage with a nice sprig of it and first the 6week old one nipped my fingers whilst eating the basil and just stepped on my hand she tested the hand to see what would happen with sharp nips but i didn't flinch and pull hand away just left her on it she went back to eating Basil the other guy jumped on with one foot on perch and one on my finger whilst eating Ive made the breakthrough now and shall persevere with them i have millet for them tomorrow ;D gonna try and get a pic too

Basil is a favourite in my cage too, Brian. First time I tried them with it, Sparky got stuck right in straight off and of course then Smudge had to go and see what he was getting that she wasn't. Even Bluey had a nibble after the kerfuffle had quietened down. Bad news my basil bush wasn't looked after while away and now has some bug turning the leaves funny.

The only thing some of them like is coriander leaves and I mix it with spinach and lettuce. Although it is all chopped together, they still pick coriander. I know it will take some time, so I keep serving them everyday.

My new birds always have green watery poo for a week or so because of the greens. After that they are fine.
