This breeding is not for the faint hearted, 5 chicks all left the nest box, 3 are weaned, one will not eat on its own, mum then decides to take the head of one of the weaned chicks.
You never know what will greet you when you open the brdroom door

not a sight i'd want to see very often I must say, is it a case the hen is fed up of feeding them or is it just "one of those things" that happens rarely ?

every thing was fine , popped back in , chick hatched not fed, grey baby scalped, chick splayed legs ( corrected now ) , next cage a 42 day old refusing to eat...............apart from that things are looking good
