My parents have an aviary of mixed birds. Spitfire the budgie lives there and until recently had a green hen for company. She has recently died leaving the poor little guy as the only, lonely budgie He is obviously desperate for some budgie company and if you have a hen you could sell around the 1year old mark so they'd be similar age we'd be very keen to buy her from you. Within about 10 miles of Southampton would be ideal, if you can help please please let me know either on this post or PM me, many thanks!

Hi there we are still looking for a hen to keep Spitfire company. He is trying to interest the cockatiels in him and has lost a couple of tail feathers as a result. He is one lonely little guy I'm afraid.... The colour of the hen isn't important, we aren't looking for anything special, he just needs a budgie to lavish attention on! Thanks all

Thanks Rachael. Bird Junky had already sent me the link but I haven't had much luck with it probably as we don't really want a baby as he's already over a year old. I've had a look on gumtree and emailed someone who never replied. Ho hum...

Ah thanks guys, I love that you would all help if you could. An unloved pet that could be rehoused, or a bird that doesn't measure up for breeding. Anything would be welcome!

Hi Sarah I've got lovely old Theodore looking for an aviary home if he'd suit the requirement for buddy? He gets into trouble flying in the house as he's not picky where he looks to land, and gets down the back of the bureau and allsorts! I know i'm a fair way but you've had birds from me before so didn't know if you'd consider again. Just a thought Regards, Soph.

Thanks Soph, I'll ask them. Spitfire is a bit loving if you know what I mean- the coackatiels certainly do now! I have a feeling they might prefer a hen but I'll certainly ask! I'm not sure about the distance as my dad would have to come and my mum is just out of hospital relying on him heavily etc etc. Anyway I'll let you know as soon as I get to chat to them.....

I have a friend in Suffolk who comes down to visit her mum- I'm thinking this might be the start of a workable plan Nat, if you can let me know what you think....

Hello thought I'd update you all on my search... Hopefully we will find a suitable bird from a gentleman in New Milton tomorrow who has had a good year and has a few spare birds, and only 40 minutes drive. Thankyou to you all for your help and good wishes, Spitfire is very grateful to you all!
