Great idea. Budgies will love it. Climbing, chewing, hiding, playing, everything is possible

I picked up one myself from a charity shop awhile ago as I thought it would make a great perching thingy. Naturally I haven't done anything with it yet, but I will be watching this thread with interest.

It might be quite good hung on the wall.... though not good if you want to live in an "ideal home"...

I think its going to be part of my new aviary revamp. I will post pics of finished set up. Thanks for tip mickmay. And Gaile, i cant wait for them to build the new ikea near to me, i think wine racks could become the thing's to look for in the charity shops or car boots.

With the collapsable rack, I was going to say, if drilling and screwing aren't your strong points, then you could simply cable-tie across the diagonal both ways and that would keep it strong, but it has (what) rivets? bolts? not sure what is already there, so really all you need to to is remove and screw. No drilling required. But then again, if you hang it, it's own weight will prevent it collapsing, and a budgie weighs next to nix .......... I would probably stabilise it anyway, just to be sure, to be sure.
