I like both those cages - I have a ferplast 6 and really like it - the ferplast 4 looks lovely - especially like the dome bit at the top but depends on your budget etc.
Would the Ferplast fit on the current stand you have to save buying a new one?

I haven't had either of these cages, but I know others have. Perhaps change the title of your thread to - Is Ferplast or Hagen Vision a better cage?
It's little things in a cage that makes one better over the other.

Let us know when the time is right, Mick, and I will find a cage to fit you in ........... oh, sorry you said "if you HAD a house budgie" .......... I read that as "if you were a house budgie" ......... ;D Ginger's point of will either fit on your current stand, is a very valid one, I think. I don't know whether these cages are even available in Aus, but many forum members have emntioned them often. I am sure you will good feed-back on both.

The stand is 50cm x 32 cm (LxW) so neither cage will fit well, which would mean a new stand is in order too. Which then bumps the prices up.
Mum moaning (she as dementia, which makes it tricky) that we don't need a new cage, not understanding that in a wider cage, Billie will have more room to play and use them wings, since she refuses to come out of the cage unless spooked crazy birdy.
I quite like the Hagen medium cage with the mess guard. However whoever has the budgie when we are on holidays, has the job of cleaning out the cage without the chance of escaping. Which is one of the reasons we have got a tray version however the grooves make it hard to clean, but for the sake of a week or so the tray can just be taken out and put back in. Then we give the cage a good clean out when the budgies back.
I will have to have a think about it all and cost up a cage and a stand.

I have two of the Hagen vision large cages. As demonstrated here by the lovely sleeping Roswell and Snowy Just took this photo for you! They do keep mess off the floor but I find them a trial to clean. Seed and poop gets caught in all the nooks and crannies. I have to hoist it bit by bit into the bath. Drying it is a problem too, water gets stuck everywhere! It is a good cage though

So basically you pay a price to keep the floor clean I guess so. My floor doesn't stay clean anyway because I put bowls of seed and herbs on top of the cages and it scatters everywhere. I sweep up every night and vacuum twice a week.

I have three cages, two of these Hagen visions and a slightly smaller one that is a bit like a ferplast. This is the one that Abbie and Hector reside in: I'd love to be able to. I don't think I could put Abbie and Hector in with the others because Hector is very protective of her and it would cause fights. But if I could get a Piano 7 for the other 6 I'd love that! The large attractive cage has an aluminium frame. Flexi-perches and stright perches are included. There are two bird swings, two removable feeders and 4 new Bravo feeders which swival out to refil. 97 x 58 x 83(H)cm The base has a plastic sliding tray which allows easier cleaning. This cage is sent flat packed but is very easy to assemble. It's about £200 though and I do not have that kind of cash!
