I am guessing that they are the canary seed. There were much more millet than canary seeds planted.

What causes the seed to go slightly furry whilst trying to grow them? Ps this pic is of my millet... Not letting me post it

Mould or some sort of fungi, anyway, Sydney, I think you are talking about. Most probably from the potting mix. Fungal spores are in the potting mix, add water and you have fungal growth. The reason you shouldn't stand over the bag when you first open it, in case the spores are airborne, you breathe them in and end up with some horrible fungal infection in the lungs. It shouldn't affect the seeds sprouting and growing though

Seeds germinate at different rates. By the look of your pot, the seedlings are very small - the other seeds could still be about to happen. Yeah, sorry, Marianne. Something for you to remember next time. The face masks you wear for cleaning the budgie stuff will be ideal.
