As I have switched the fiends over to Avia, I still have about 500g of my previous budgie seed mix left. I want to grow some of this in a pot on the balcony as I have a spare and just bought a sack of soil for 99p Any tips?!

That is all I do, too, Gaile. Throw it in a pot, cover lightly, water infrequently and forget! Seems to work really well with the millet! A few weeks later, after I have given up trying to convince the little guys that sprouts are good for them, the millet gets little seed heads on them and they think it is Christmas!

I have just put some millet and canary seed in a pot outside on the balcony, next to the chickweed and the Euccy that isn't growing!
Had to lock fiends away for 15 minutes, they weren't please. Never mind that I am doing this for them.

It has been winter, Marianne. Give your tree a chance - spring is springing and summer will be .......... summery? Trees and sprouts will be over running your balcony soon.

The millet and other seed seems to grow really well in a pot. Only problem is that I can't grow enough of it. Once it's ready, there's only enough to last for a few days. I think I'd need to grow it in a bigger garden bed, but I don't have one.
The euccy will take ages to grow in a pot. It's a tree after all. And you've only just got it.

Did you put the seeds in the sides only?

I just do mine with my Trill mix. Get some dirt, throw in a pile of seeds, sunny spot, water and watch them grow.
