Has anyone read the hunger games by Suzanne Collins? Wowzers!! I know it's supposed to be for teens/ young adults but then so is Harry Potter and lots of you have probably read that! I've gone through the trilogy in just over a week, looked up and the house has gone to wrack and ruin.... Going to see the film as soon as I can now...

I am half way through the first book and wow it is good! I was a bit put off reading them because everyone was saying how amazing the books and film are so I thought I would be disapointed after all the hype. No spoilers on this thread though I have lots more to read. x

Where did my post go!?!? Anyway, I had added that to my Christmas shopping list for anyone looking for books to give teenagers, but no-one seemed interested. My youngest got the series for his birthday last Sept and of course had to line up with the rest of the great unwashed to catch the movie almost as soon as it came out.

Do I have to stop washing to go and see it too Hezz? Or maybe they won't let me in anyway because I'm too old, ha ha!!

LOL!!! I am just not a crowd person, Sarah, and somehow it seems that the people who can afford to go to the movies all the time must save up their soap money ........ no, only joking, but even the kids see everything. I don't know how people afford it. I used to take Drew to the movies once over each holiday period, that was it. Now he can take himself, but I am still only paying for one movie each holiday. By the first weekend, not even a full week, just about everyone in his class had seen it, and most would then turn around over the hols and go again, and that is just one movie! I am sure you will be fine, Sarah! May be different in the UK, but at least there will be one clean person in the crowd , and all ages, shapes and sizes seem to frequent every movie here. I am sure you have to sit in the "granny aisle"

Yes it's very expensive, we usually wait until it's out on DVD if we like the look of a film, it's the same as the price of one ticket to the flicks! I'll ask for the granny aisle when I book my ticket if I actually get around to going before they stop showing it!....
