Elfie even gets multi-coloured stars for his nights at home, , how cute! When you have finished that one, you'll have to make him a winter-time "blankie" to keep the cold out .......... Are they dog paws in the bottom RH of the first photo?

Hiya Moogie, Just a word from your Mum. Make sure you stop and really think about what you are doing as you attach the padding to be sure everything will be in the right place when you pull it through right side out. Nothing worse than having a 'doh' moment and having to unpick it all.

Don't worry, girl. This is the prototype - they always need tweaking. Ned is definitely doing a good job! You know if you wanted to be clever, and make it a summer and winter cover, you could make a separate one with wadding and have little velcro tabs to fix the wadding to the cotton one for winter and leave off for summer ........... .

So, after seven hours have you made a bird cage cover, or a puff-ball skirt?
