Yes - I ATTEMPTED to make a cage cover a few years ago. I don't have a sewing machine and my hand sewing leaves much to be desired. I use a dark blue double bed spread but have always wanted a nice one. I think your friend will be very busy Barrie ;D

If you have a sewing machine, that looks really easy to make. It would be super warm with the cotton padding in there too. Reversible colours are good as well.

I'd make a stupid mistake and it would end up bunched up like an 80's puffball skirt or something.

The budgies might appreciate a puff-ball skirt! That is the best thing about pets - they don't complain when things don't quite turn out right.......... ;D
