Budgies sometimes bite hard if they are scared or nervous. If you are just starting to hand tame it might take a while for him to build some trust so need to take things slow. There are some fab posts on here about hand taming. Lots of patience is the key. If he is just nibbling then that's lovely and let him carry on

Hi Montana, The fact is animals bite! and each is an individual so one may bite another may not. First make sure your bird is a male, because if it's a female it's always going to bite, and bite hard. Maybe when you are handling the bird distract it with a toy or I know whenever I am using a cotton bud on a budgie they love grabbing hold of it. As others have said, patience Sorry for not responding to your messages sooner, I didn't really understand what you were asking.

hi, Sweetie bites me frequently but never hard, i think she uses her beak to investigate me lol. if i do however feel the pressure is a little more than i would like then i simply say 'no' (without raising my voice!) and believe it or not she stops. the only time she has bitten me hard is when i had only had her a couple days and she accidently got out of her cage whilst i was rearranging it, i picked her up to put her back in and she was NOT impressed lol. other than that she has never bitten me and i hope it stays that way especially when shes bigger lol x
