Hello all!!! Hope everyone is well xxxx heres the problem - had my two about 8 weeks now but they won't touch any fruit or veg - they love treats and the seed but then when it comes to the greens they won't touch them - they just pull them out and drop them on the floor - I've tried making the wet and still no luck .... Charlie kind of looks at you as if u think he is mad that he is going to eat such food and just goes over and drops them on the floor then looks at u as if to say ... "yes mum??? I did nothing honest!!" ... What do you think is best ??

This is because they were not reared on veggies, try mixing some sweet corn and grated carrots with soaked groats

When my budgie was a baby, I had to start him eating veges by chopping them up really really tiny...like the size of seed. Eventually, when he got bigger, he'd cope with ripping bits off from larger pieces.
Try mixing some seed with it, and sprinkling a little on the top. Maybe also some mashed well hard-boiled egg.
All they need to do is get a taste for it. They'll start just sampling it, but even that may take a little time. You only need a tiny bit. For 2 babies, just a couple of teaspoons full. Even if they don't eat it, just keep presenting it to them each day. Eventually they'll give it a go.

I have grated carrot and given tiny tiny bits of broccoli in the past, or put a sprinkle of raw sweetcorn kernels near the seed or a place they love to play in the cage Once they had tried it I just offered larger pieces and let them pull it apart themselves. Keep persevering, they will be naturally curious about the veg and eventually it may get the better of them. When you say they just drop it- they probably always will destroy it, shred it, throw it about etc. It's all part of the fun- like a toy with nutritional benefits!
