The Budgies will enjoy stripping the bark themselves !

use hot soapy water...then hose it down ....but its best to use .......F10SC Veterinary Disinfectant ....theres no need to strip the bark ...the budgies love it ...just wash it well...

What can happen if not cleaned as my mum seems to think it would be fine without cleaning

wild birds carry diseases ...which can be passed on through there poo..... and also just being in contact with the branches .....you maybe lucky and have nothing go wrong ...but it could also go very wrong...... and kill all your budgies .........or make them very ill giving you a masive vet bill trying to get them back to health.....your choice ....i no which one i would do..........

What can happen if not cleaned as my mum seems to think it would be fine without cleaning You can also get fungal spores residing in the bark and knots etc. The scrubbing action removes a whole lot more germs than a soapy soak. And a good drying in the sun after washing is as beneficial as a lot of disinfectants
