Anyone had this issue before.....Daisy will sit in her seed pot and kick and burrow into ALL the seed then climb away and go back do it again and again....she's pretty much emptied the seed pot that i had filled this morning...

Yes Rob, I know it well! Do I recall that Daisy is quite young? I think it's sort of a baby habit. Out of the 7 I have only Sparky still digs in the seed pot, literally with most of her head in the seed so I worry she won't be able to breathe sometimes...and she's coming up for a year old now so I suppose it's just her "thing". Probably Daisy will just ooutgrow this habit or if she doesn't you can resign yourself to several quid worth of seed feeding the hoover....

Mine burrow in the seed pot to find the stuff they like. The rest lands wherever, on the bottom of the cage, or worse yet, on the floor.

I had a few who did that but then I switched to similar seed feeders and now they can't do it

Yep been there, put up with that lol. Its mainly a baby thing, occasionally hens wanting to nest do it too. With young birds it basically their way of wanting to hide and feel safe like they do when they have just left the nest. Breeders have what is called a gazunder which is a little box with a hole for a door that the babies can hide in to keep away from grumpy parents.
The only way I have found to stop this is to give them a smaller seed dish, one that they can't sit in. When she is older you can most likely switch back to a bigger dish ;D

I swear they saw it as a game ;D, they still do it now and again but not as much, they seem to have grown out of it, or only do it when they're stroppy, bored, or just want my attention.
