Yeah, I've seen the cages we have doubled in a pet shop and I have to say they look awful! Plus as has already been said, budgies fly sideways rather than up.

It is nice, they are really lovely and a dream to clean out. The delivery is free and if they are still doing the discount voucher you might get it for a sniff over 80... Yeah I know they are expensive but I have always found ferplast to last really well and probably only work out a fiver a budgie per year over their lifetime... That's how I justified it to Lee anyway!! Wish my rent was that cheap, ha ha!!

Yea I had thought that too Hezz, I do feel so bad for Trixie as I'm in work I'm currently looking for cages etc but please feel free to suggest some, you know me open to all ideas Sent from my E15i using ProBoards Don't feel bad, having budgies is all a big learning curve, I have owned budgies for around 10 years and I am still learning new things about them. ;D Now what kind of space to you have for a new cage? Also what is the maximum you would want to spend? I think flight cages are the best but they can be a bit pricey, mine was £100 but worth every penny. This is the same as my cage only mine is a pale grey and this one in the link is black www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHINCHILLA-RAT-SMALL-BIRD-CAGE-Antique-Black-FLIGHT-/261023774383?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Birds&hash=item3cc63ab6afAlso check out ebay for auctions in your area, you can pick up some great second hand bargains

Munchy's cage was about £70-ish pounds and is probably about the same size as yours, Rob, so £89 isn't really all that expensive for a decent bird cage. Although the reasonable ones I would only ever use for quarantine or if it was only for sleeping in and the bird could spend the rest of the day outside. Wouldn't even want two only sleeping in a small one.

Ira I recently lost alot of hours in work which makes £89 out of my range, hence the reason I would pay £50 for the other cage, and yea Rach I'm constantly cruising eBay for stuff I have a mobile alert setup for budgie cages lol Sent from my E15i using ProBoards

Ah, okay. Fair enough. I just meant that it was a normal price for the size of the cage more than anything. I wish they weren't so expensive because then people who are first time bird owners who haven't looked up much about bird care might actually buy a decent sized cage rather than a completely unsuitable one.

Rob, did you see Marianne's post on the other thread about zooplus doing specials? Here it is: Courtesy of Marianne ........ Zooplus do it for £89
Plus you can get a discount of 13% if you are a new buyer with them..
code is MEGADEALwww.zooplus.co.uk/shop/birds/bird....ferplast/113666 May be worth while enquiring about. Otherwise I would go with your large option of the two you were looking at earlier. Money is always a bitch!

Thanks Hezz, I was going to point it out too but I can't do the link thing, I'm just the basics where tech is concerned!! The cage is a steal for that price.

If it weren't for me covering other staffs hours while they are away plus the bit of money I make from being an Avon rep I would be panicking. How about waiting a little while before upgrading the cage? Keep your eye on ebay auctions nearby and any good deals on websites but save up what money you can and then you will be able to get a bigger cage for them. Its no good getting a cheaper cage now and then a few months down the line buying another cage because you want them to have more space. As long as Daisy and Trixie get to be out of the cage as much as you can in the meantime then you don't need to rush Have you considered one on one time with them? As in have Trixie out on her own and work on taming her, stepping up etc, then pop Trixie back into the cage and get Daisy out and do the same with her ;D

yea i had thought about the 1on1 time, it's just getting one out of the cage at a time lol must say the fighting has become a lot better now, i put a perch up really high and it seems to have finally decided on who's boss, which is Trixie, Daisy has the perch in the day and Trixie at night lol

Maybe let them both out of the cage but take one of them into a different room to spend time with them?

would be easier for me to take the cage with the other in, to the bedroom or kitchen and work with the other one...because the bedroom looks like a nuke has gone off in there at the mo, and the kitchen has too many nooks and crannies in especially for Daisy.....on another note, i cant wait for Daisy to malt....she really needs her flight feathers back, poor thing finds it hard to fly, tries her best though lol, and normally crash lands onto the floor or on my desk

Poor little Daisy. She'll feel so much better when her flight feathers grow back. Sounds like she and Trixie could end up friends after all? That's what I hope for, anyway.
