Hello Everyone ...
this week i rescued 2 budgies local to me from preloved.com .. they was both free to good home .
the first one was bobby .. a young male and he has settled in fine only been here 2 days and hes ok. wings clipped!! i dont like this! but hes eating and all is good.
the second one i got today around 2pm. so he has been here 6 or 7 hours now. a lutino cock with his wings clipped also! from a petshop .
anyways.
when i pick the lutino male up he is screeching nothing like my other birds. the lady i got him from said he was 10 months old. all my other budgies are fine when i handle them they bite me peck me the lot but the new one just screeches .. he seems to have settled with the other birds but this screeching is something ive never heard ... could he just be scared with a new home or something? or maybe he has not be handled or anything before?
what are your insights ?

Mmm....I have a similar thing with Jasper. I brought him from a pet shop and they thought he was about 8 months but had no idea. He just stood out and I had to have him and he is a lovely companion for my Patch who lost her friend at the time.
However, when I first got him he consitently flew from one side of the cage to the other and hated it when I put my hand in and when I handle him he seems to send an alarm call and lets the whole neighbourhood about it.
He is very content with the budgies and trusts me now but just does not like to be handled. Not sure why? I still can't handle him much but just enough. He gets extra stressed when we have to travel anywhere.
I've never thought much on it really and just accepted that is how he is.
Not sure if any experts can offer any insight?

He is just stressed. I have had new budgies do that. Whenever I bring new budgies home, I spray them with mite and lice spray. I also clean their feet with disinfectant. Some scream during this treatment but not so after a while when they are settled.

Our female Bede taught Ollie how to scream.....both will do this when I have to handle them....they also cry to each other when I am handling them....but Baby Aidan and Gilbert are not bothered....and are very relaxed and calm when I handle them....and they like kisses.....as where Bede and Ollie are not impressed.....
