As that's what this section is called, what words do your budgies say? Munchy natters on about random things occasionally and comes out with words that we've only said to him a few times.
Things we taught: Munchy Pretty boy Gizza kiss Kiss Kenny Beautiful I love you Zoë Where's Zoë?
Things he's picked up: Good boy He's such a lovely boy Come here Granddad (we chose Kenny instead because we thought it would be easier to say XD) Hello Munchkin
Things he's made up from what he knows: Pretty pretty boy Pretty boy, Munchy Pretty Munchy Come here, Munchy I love you, Munchy I love you, Zoë Lovely Munchy Beautiful Munchy Good boy, Munchy Gizza kiss, Munchy Kiss Granddad
I think there's a theme there with his name being his favourite word XD
He also wolf whistles, makes smoochy noises and whistles as if calling a dog (sort of like the reverse of a wolf whistle). He's also picked up some whistles off my nan, one of which is the same note, short and sharp, twice. He sounds so much like her that sometimes we don't know who's just whistled.

Munchy sounds like a lot of fun. I would love to see a video of him.

I'll see if I can get one, BB. We don't have a video camera, so I'll have to use the ordinary camera which doesn't have great quality but hopefully I'll get him at a time when he's active and not feeling camera shy

It's funny when they yabber away, especially when they begin making up their own sentences. Right now my buddy is sitting on a chair back in the sun chatting like crazy.

Munch sure does have a big vocabulary. I would also like to see a video.

Me too! As I had a hen bird she didn't talk, but she did have her own language of sorts! Does anyone know, if you got three budgies all at once, would the chances of them talking be slimmer? As I thought males would only learn to talk if they were on their own?

Hens talk Sam. It's a myth that they don't.

Yes, I have heard that too! I think if we had Monts around a bit longer she would have as she loved mimicking sounds (and me!)

It's hard to get them on video talking. They seem to be distracted by the camera. Good to see a vid if you can get one though.

Hens aren't as vocal as cocks, but they can still talk if the stimulus was good enough for them. Cocks are more easy-going, and therefore easier to train. I have to say, that while hens can and will talk, the percentage of them doing so is less than that of males.

Hezz, they probably just don't have anything to say that that point. Hens are very choosy

Hens are fussy Munchy is a bit scared by the camera, so I'll probably have 10 mins of footage where he's standing still, but he might come out of his shell. He tends to babble that half-budgie, half-human talk to his toys, so it might not be very clear, and the quality won't be great, but I'll try my best tomorrow What sort of things does Boo say, Stace? Marianne, often I think 'Munchy' is the centre of his vocabulary XD He even says it in a snappy way like when I'm trying to get him to stop doing something. He even said 'No!' once after I'd said it to him twice in an hour. He occasionally picks up things just for the day because we don't say them often ^^

Eheheh, he just said 'Come here, pretty'. I now have 5 minutes of him chittering away, mostly in the half-budgie kind of way, and he's decided to speak clearer now I'm not aiming a camera at him, but I think it can be made out. I'll post it in the pictures and clips area once I've worked out how to upload it XD
Edit: Had to take it again because the background noise was too loud.

Pepito says: Pepito, Pepi, gorgeous boy!, you just gorgeous!, kiss, kiss you, cheeky boy, cute wee budgie, thank you, what you doing?, oh dear!, Granny, peep bo! Like the other budgies he mixes those up in a lot of budgie chatter.. He says a couple of these at appropriate times - like "oh dear" when he's playing with a toy that spins round a perch on his playstand - he sometimes tries to sit on it but it spins him round till he falls off so I say, "Oh dear!", and he often says, "what you doing?" when he is watching us doing something close to him or his cage. He also makes a few technical sound - the "ping" noise our tv makes when we switch it on, the 5 note noise our phone makes when we put it back in its cradle, the sound it makes just before it starts ringing (clear enough to make us start looking for the phone!) and the noise of my camera shutter (no idea why he picked that one up! :
